Since October 1st 2012 till September 30th 2013 - "Araza"
BNGO with the support of U.S. Embassy Democracy Commission Small Grant Program is realizing a project
aimed at <Increasing CSO participation and influence in democratic
decision-making processes in order to ensure a fair, social and economic
development in Armenia>.
Strategic Goal:
Increased CSOs involvement
and influence in public democratic decision making processes in order to
guarantee fair social and
economic development in Armenia
Project Goals:
1. To improve the quality
of civil participation in public decision making through strengthening the
capacity of CSOs to
participate in democratic processes related to the legislative work:
2.To increase the activity
of CSOs in decision-making processes having public importance
3.To develop the
capabilities of CSO representatives for forming public support and representing
proper application to the relevant state stractures.
The beneficiaries of the project are
<Public Network>-the union of civil society institutions, which are in
cooperation with governmental structures and National Assembly and also the
youth from sectoral networks` NGOs
Project
Description
The project goals are to be reached through three
interventions. The beneficiaries of the interventions are
young representatives of 20-30 Armenian advocacy
oriented NGOs working in the Social, Economic and
Education fields. The course will consist of
theoretical and practical parts, and participants will be provided with the
following information and be given the following tasks:
- Theoretical aspects of political
documents analysis, especially law drafts
- Background
information
- Documents
subject to study and revision
- How
and where to find data to cross-checking of different facts
- Practical
exercises in analysis of law drafts
- To work out detailed suggestions
for amendments to law drafts according to the NGOs field of interest
(Regional Development, Economy, Social, Human Rights, etc.)
- To
work out consensus position papers, which NGOs can present as a group of
interested parties.

"Araza" BNGO with the support of U.S. Embassy Democracy
Commission Small Grant Program realized a series
of seminars on November 23, December 7 and 14 accordingthe first
action of the program"Increase CSO participation and influence in
democratic decision-making processes, which will guarantee
fair, social and economic development in Armenia".The seminars` aim is
to strengthen the capaities of the beveficiaries
for analizing policy papers and developing draft law by specific
training. The course consists of theoretical and practical parts.
The course was conducted by MSc of Law,
the Human rights and advocacy expert -Edmon Maruqyan.
The facilitators of practical work were the member
of the Network, the president of <The center of
social-economic and legal reforms> NGO, the lecturer of Eurasia
University-Nune Dgomardyan, and the lawyer-cunsutant of Araza NGO- Nare
Simonyan.
60 representatives of Public
Network NGOs took part in the seminar and received
the seminar materials and sertificates for participation.
